Three Arrested, Charged Over Alleged Torture, Forced Nudity Of Two Women In Ughelli

Three persons have been charged by the police before the Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State, over the alleged torture, assault and online publication of nude photographs of two women in Ughelli.
The defendants, identified as Precious Isaac, Clarice Dickson and Orji Ifeanyi, were listed alongside other suspects said to be at large in a nine-count charge filed by the Commissioner of Police, Delta State.
The charges followed the emergence of a video of the alleged incident on social media, which attracted widespread condemnation and drew the attention of several commentators, including social media activist VeryDarkMan.
According to the charge sheet dated September 15, 2026, the alleged offences were committed against two women identified as Sarah Gomerim and Awu Kate.
The police alleged that the defendants and others at large assaulted the two women, inflicted physical injuries on them and subjected them to physical and mental suffering.
In counts relating to both women, the prosecution alleged that grounded pepper was poured into their vaginas during the assault.
The defendants were also accused of publishing nude photographs of the two women on the internet, with the prosecution describing the images as pornographic, indecent and obscene.
One of the counts concerning Gomerim alleged that she was stabbed in the leg with a knife, causing her harm, while another count alleged that Kate was similarly attacked with a knife.
The charges were brought under various provisions of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition) Act, the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act, the Anti-Torture Act and the Criminal Code applicable in Delta State.
The prosecution accused the defendants of offences including cyberstalking, causing physical injury, torture, assault and the publication of obscene material.
The charge was signed by Uye Michael of the Legal/Prosecution Unit, Criminal Investigating and Intelligence Department, Delta State Police Headquarters, Asaba.
The case has drawn significant public interest following the circulation of the alleged assault video online and the ensuing calls for accountability over the treatment of the victims.
The defendants, however, remain presumed innocent unless and until found guilty by the court.
