FOOG Visits Delta APC Working Committee, Promises to Mobilise Support Tinubu, Oborevwori

The FOOG Women Group for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has pledged to mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections, assuring the party leadership of the group’s readiness to work with its structures across Delta State.

The President-General of the group, Chief Mrs. Esther Okotie-Ebor, made the commitment on Wednesday when she led members of FOOG on a visit to the Delta APC State Working Committee at the party secretariat in Asaba.

Okotie-Ebor said the group, which has more than 1,000 members, had been involved in empowerment programmes for women and youths and would continue to support the APC by mobilising its members and reaching out to more people.

“We have over 1,000 members, so every time you need us, just call upon us,” she said, adding that the group could mobilise its members within a short notice whenever the party required its support.

She explained that FOOG had carried out more than 1,000 empowerment activities and decided to visit the party leadership because, “when you are doing something, you have to go and see your leaders. They are our fathers and leaders, so we have to come and see them, let them know what we are doing and take prayers from them.”

As part of the visit, the group presented 10 coolers, 10 gas cookers, 10 cooking pots and 10 frying pans to the party, alongside 100 pieces of wrappers, which Okotieboh said were provided to support the party and encourage beneficiaries.

Receiving the delegation, APC State Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, commended FOOG for its activities, describing it as “a very veritable, dynamic, agile and politically structured group.”

Arenyeka said support groups remained important to political mobilisation, noting that “support groups are instruments of driving the wheel of the party,” and urged FOOG to expand its activities across all 25 local government areas.

He advised the group to propagate its message peacefully and ensure that its activities reflected the principles of the APC, while assuring the members that the party would provide the necessary support for their activities.

“As you are working, you are also working for us. As you are doing your own, you are doing our own,” Arenyeka said.
